Natali, there are many options that you may want to consider such as taking your doggie to doggie daycare or having a pet sitter/dog walker come over when you are out of town.
If you want to spend a little money it is a nice thing and my dogs love their pet sitter we have stay overnight when we are away on business or traveling.

It is always nice having loving pet owners out there and pets from pet stores are ok dogs last I checked people. I give to all the pet shelters too but if a dog goes from a pet store to a dog shelter then what is the difference really. Pets want loving home's although you may want to be aware of the 1st Year Puppy Syndrome Natali. Puppies have lots of energy...they poop they pee...they chew the heck out of many many things and they eat poop and pee a whole lot...haha

I have rescued two dogs and bought two dogs from pet stores...they are still dogs.

Props to you for realizing you don't have the time to do it correctly right now. When you are ready, get a rescue from a shelter, not a pet store.

In the mean time, why not volunteer at a shelter? You can play with them, walk them and probably clean up after them (might as know what you are getting into).

I remember visiting a pet store regularly after work when I worked in the upper east side as a nice end-of-the-day stress-relieving thing. The dogs were kept in aquarium-like cages, and the bigger ones were able to pop up and lean a bit over the ledges. Definitely hard to resist. I still want a dog. Admittedly the pet stores are the worst places to buy, save covenience, you'd get a better deal from a breeder in the suburbs/rural areas.

Dogs in the city are not too bad off -- they just need some room to run around every now and then. Lots of good dog runs around for socialization too. Small dogs usually do okay in small apartments. That frequent travelling thing and rarely being at home is a bigger issue. Doggie daycares, vet bills, and sitters/walkers will quickly make your wallet thinner.

I doubt any camera built like the iPhone's would fare much better in the same situation, so I can't be so hard on the thing: indoor light, subject in an enclosed area, fast moving hyperpuppy -- all make for some difficult picture taking. Sure, more light sensitivity (higher iso) and a fake LED flash would, maybe, have helped, but nothing beats a real [digital] camera. Umm... the cage came out nice and clear though!

Still want my 3G iPhone... armed with 3rd party apps... Loaded and Geekbrief podcasts... all my commuting tunes... my favorite TV episodes... sweet.

I agree with Kendra, pet stores bad, animal shelter good. That said, I totally sympathize with regard to small apartments and dogs. Happened to me, not good for the dog, trust me. Cats do better.

This IS a cute puppy but you should never buy from a pet store. They are solely responsible for keeping puppy mills in business. When you are ready to buy a puppy, find a reputable breeder or even an animal shelter. You can still find full breeds there!

That's the problem with apple,there using cheap lens in i phone. I have an old sony 2.mp camera it take better photo ,with better focus,then that overprice phone. any way you should buy the puppy,if you have three rooms that big enough.Of course you might need to paper train the dog. Robert
